Dr Hamama, Hamdi Hosni BDS (Mans U,Egypt), MDS (Oper Dent & Endod) (Mans U,Egypt), PhD (HKU), MAOD, MORCA, MFDS RCPS(Glasg), MFGDP(UK), MAAGFO Dr Hamama is a Clinical Assistant Professor in Operative Dentistry and Cariology Course Leader, Faculty of Dentistry, The University of Hong Kong. He graduated from Mansoura University (Egypt) where he obtained his BDS (2002) and MDS (Oper Dent & Endod) (2009) degrees. In 2014, he was awarded PhD degree in the field of Aesthetic and Operative Dentistry from The University of Hong Kong. In 2015, he received the Outstanding Research Postgraduate Student Award (HKU). Dr Hamama is an active member for many International Clinical/Research organizations; The European Organization of Caries Research, the Faculty of Dental Surgery the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow, Academy of Operative Dentistry (AOD) and The American Academies of Gold Foil Operators (AAGFO) and Cariology (AAC). He contributed 2 innovative testing methodologies to the dental field and a “new minimally invasive” clinical bleaching technique referred to as "Focal Bleaching Technique (FBT)". FBT was CE topic of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry Journal, USA, 2013. Also, Dr Hamama has several peer-reviewed journal articles on chemomechanical caries removal methods and bonding to caries-affected dentine. He served as scientific reviewer for some organizations/Journals; International Association of Dental Research (IADR) conferences, Wiley-Blackwell Cariology textbooks proposals and some dental journals (e.g. Journal of Dentistry).
